Events.
Adding events
Add an event by either clicking the red “Add Event” button located in the left sidebar or by double clicking on the calendar itself where you want to insert an event. An event detail box will pop up for entering relevant data such as event name, time and location.
If you have more than one calendar, select which calendar you want the event saved in by clicking the drop down bar and selecting the appropriate calendar.
For an event that repeats or requires a reminder, click on the Repeat and/or Reminder tabs located at the top of the pop up box to switch between the various input fields. SMS and Email reminders can be received (see SMS reminder instructions below).
When all data is entered “click” submit.
Reminders
Reminders can be set on any event either at the time of their creation or later if the event is imported as part of a public calendar the user subscribes to. To set a reminder, double click on the event and select the "Reminder" tab. Use the drop down box and "Add" button to set as many reminders as you require.
Whilst email reminders can be received by all Supacal members, SMS reminders require you to complete two prerequisites. The first is to register for SMS which entails providing Supacal your mobile phone number and the second is buying SMS credits.
To register, click on the red "Register for SMS" link located at the top of the calendar page and fill in the SMS Setup fields in the preferences section. Once this is completed the, a new red link will appear titled "Buy SMS Credits". Click on this link to buy 40 SMS credits for $10 (pus GST for Australian residents). Supacal uses Paypal to facilitate credit card transaction.
Editing an event
To edit an event, just double click on the event name in the calendar. The “Event” box will pop up. Make any adjustments and click on the “submit” button at the bottom of the “Event “ box.
Deleting events
To delete an event, double click on the event in the calendar. The “Event” box will pop up. To delete this event click on the “delete” button at the bottom of the “Event “ box.
Adding a birthday
Add a Birthday by clicking the red “Add Birthday ” button located in the left sidebar. A Birthday detail box will pop up for entering relevant data such as name, date and location and reminder requirements. Click the "Add" to save the birthday. Supacal will automatically repeat the birthday for 20 years.
If you do not know the person’s birthday then simply input their name and email address in the required fields and click the "Add" button. Supacal will invite the person to add their Birthday into your calendar. When they do we will let you know via email and automatically send email reminders, the first one week prior and the second one day prior to the birthday.
Calendars.
Creating a calendar
Create a new calendar by clicking the red “Create a Calendar ” button located in the left sidebar and a calendar detail page will populate.
Type in the calendar’s name and select its’ colour. All events saved into this calendar will be distinguished by that colour.
To save click the “Save” button at the bottom.
Deleting a calendar
Click the “Remove a Calendars” button n the left hand side bar. A new page will load listing all calendars with an empty box located to the right of each calendar name. To delete a calendar, selected the calendar by clicking on the correct box and then click on the “delete” button.
Navigate through the days, weeks or months
Located on the left hand side directly above the calendar are 5 navigation buttons. The centre button displays “Today” with single and double arrow direction buttons located on either side. By clicking the “Today” button you will always return to a view including today’s date. The direction buttons move you up or down the calendar.
As you move through the calendar, the month and year will change accordingly.
Sharing calendars
Calendars have three privacy settings, Private, Shared and Public.
The default setting is Private to ensure all of your data is private unless you choose to share the calendar with someone else. To do this:
- Click on the calendar’s name listed in the left side column. This will bring up the calendar detail page.
- Select the Sharing tab at the top of the Box.
- Use the drop down box to select which option you want (i.e . Private, Shared or Public)
- If selecting Shared, enter the persons Supacal username and decide on the permission level.
- To save new settings Click on the “Save” button
To save the new settings, click on the “save” button located at the bottom.
Please Note
- A Private calendar can only be viewed by the calendar owner. This is the default setting.
- A Shared calendar can only be viewed by users specified by calendar owner. Permissions set by calendar’s owner (i.e. view only or view and edit etc).
- A Public calendar can subscribe to by all Supacal users but only edited by those specified by the calendar’s owner.
Changing shared calendar setting
You can change who and how you share your calendar whenever you want. Simply click on the calendar name located in the left hand side column to bring up the Calendar detail page.
Select the shared Tab and change the settings to want you now want.
Click “Save button to save the new settings.
Subscribing to public calendars
To find Public calendars of interest simply type in relevant words into the search field located at the bottom of the left hand side column and click on the "GO" button.
Search results will be listed on a new page. If you find a calendar you want to subscribe to simply click on the purple “Subscribe to this Calendar”. All of the calendars events will automatically be imported into your calendar and the calendar’s name will be listed under the “Subscriptions” header in the left hand side column.
Any changes made to the calendar by its owner will automatically be reflected in your calendar moving forward.
