BASICS
What happens if I check the 'Remember me' box when I log in?
You can log in to your account automatically by checking 'Remember me ' on the log in page. When you check the box and log in, Supacal sets a cookie to remember you when you return to the site from the same computer. The cookie lasts for two weeks, after which time you will need to login again. To disable the cookie, just click 'Logout' at the top of the page.
BackHow can I set or change my user preferences?
To change your user preferences, once you have logged in, click on 'My Preferences' at the top of the page. After you have entered you new data, click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.
BackI made a mistake! Can I undo my last action?
If you make a mistake, don't panic! All actions on can be undone easily. Simply go back and alter what you last did.
BackHow do I set my time zone?
When you joined Supacal, you needed to set your time zone. To check if Supacal has your correct time zone click on “My Preferences’ at the top of the page and locate the time zone option. Use the drop down bar to find and select your correct time zone and then Click on the “Save” to save the change to you preferences.
In addition, each calendar you create will default to the time zone set in your preference settings. However for each calendar you can set a different time zone to the one selected in “my preferences”
To do this, click on the specific calendar “name” in your side bar to bring up that calendar’s settings. Locate the time zone option. Use the drop down bar to find and select your correct time zone and then Click on the “Save” to save the change to that calendar.
Please note, if you change you time zone via changing the option in “My Preferences” it will overwrite all individual calendar’s time zones and realign them with the time zone selected in “My Preference”.
BackHow do I log out of Supacal?
When you are finished with your Supacal session, we encourage you to log out to protect the security of your account. This is especially important if you are using a public computer. To log out just click the “Logout” at the top of the page.
BackWhat time and date format can I use?
Supacal supports a number of time and date formats to make to easy. To change your preference between International and American-style dates, click on 'My preference' at the top of the page and choose between one of the options.
Following are examples of the ways that you can input dates and times.
12/23/2006 which means December 23, 2006
23/12/2006 which means December 23, 2006
2006-12-23 which means December 23, 2006
14.30 which means 2.30 pm
2.30 pm which means 2.30 pm
What happens to dormant accounts?
If you don't log in to your account for 12 months, it will be marked as 'dormant'. All data in your account will be deleted and then your account will be closed. If your dormant account is deleted, we cannot guarantee that you'll be able to signup with your previous username. Please make sure you log in to Supacal regularly!
BackHow do I cancel my Supacal account?
You can cancel your account by clicking “contact” at the bottom of the page and asking us to cancel your account. Please email support@supacal.com and let us know your username. We will then send an email to the email address listed in “my Preferences” to confirm the request. Upon confirmation we will close the account.
BackCan I get a refund for unused SMS credits ?
Unfortunately no.

What is Supacal ?
Supacal is the new way to keep track of all the events in your life. It is an online calendar that allows you to create, share and subscribe to calendars. Never forget an event again with reminders through sms and/or email.
BackHow much does its cost?
Supacal membership is completely free. The only cost is for receiving reminders and summaries via sms. We don’t own a telecommunications network so we have to buy those.

Supacal is accessible via a PC, Linux, or Macintosh (Mac) computer with one of the following browsers fully supported:

BackWhat does it mean that this site is in 'beta'?
Basically, it means that Supacal is a work-in-progress and there may be a bug or two. In addition it means we are still working on bringing you new features.
BackCALENDARS and EVENTS
What are the options of viewing my calendar?
Located on the right , directly above the calendar are the “Day”,” Week” and ”Month” buttons. By clicking on these the calendar view will change accordingly.
BackHow do I add an event to my calendar?
You can add an event by clicking either the “Add Event” located at the top of the left sidebar or by double clicking on the calendar and an event box will pop up. Type in the event name in the name section and add in a summary if desired. The event “start “and “end” can be determined by changing the date and time appropriately.
If you have more than one calendar, select which calendar you want the event in by clicking in the drop down bar and clicking on the name of the appropriate calendar. The name will become the name shown in the field.
For an event that repeat. Use the drop down bar under “Repeats” to select which repeat option is correct. Further option boxes will populate allowing you to tell Supacal how many times the event will repeat, how often and when if ever to stop.
To save the event into the calendar, click the “submit.” button at the bottom of the add event box
BackHow do I delete an event in my calendar?
To delete an event, double click on the event in the calendar. The “Event” box will pop up. To delete this event click on the “delete” button at the bottom of the “Event “ box.
BackHow do I delete a calendar?
To delete a calendar, either click on the “Delete a Calendar” link or click the red minus button located to the immediate right of “Calendars” in the left hand side bar. A new page will load listing all calendars with an empty box located to the right of each calendar name. To delete a calendar, selected the calendar by clicking on the correct box and then click on the “delete” button.
BackCan I change an event start or end time?
To make a change to any of the details with an event, just double click on the event in the calendar. The “Event” box will pop up. Make any adjustments and click on the “submit” at the bottom of the “Event “ box.
Alternatively, an event can be moved by moving the cursor on to the event and then “click and drag” the event to where you want it to be. If this is done from within the “Month” view you can only move it from one day to another. Within the “Weekly” view, it can be dragged to a different time and day. Within the “Day” view it can only be dragged to another time.
BackHow do I navigate through the days, weeks or months?
Located on the left hand side directly above the calendar are 5 navigation buttons. The centre button displays “today” with single and double arrow direction buttons located on either side. By clicking the “today” button you will always return to a view including today’s date. The direction buttons move you up or down the calendar.
As you move through the calendar, the month and year will change accordingly.
BackHow do I change the name of my default Calendar (i.e. your username)?
Click on the Calendar name in your left sidebar. It will take a moment to load the Calendar settings. Move your cursor to the “Name” field and delete the name. Type the new name and save by clicking the “Save” button at the bottom of the form. The name should now have changed in your left side bar.
BackHow do I change the colour of one of my Calendar(s)?
Click on the Calendar name in your left sidebar. It will take a moment to load the Calendar settings. Move your cursor to one of the colour blocks and double click. The colour should now show as the smaller block located at the far left end of the colour options. Save the new colour by clicking the “Save” button at the bottom of the form. The colour should now have changed in your left side bar.
BackSEARCHING
What can I search for?
The search function will search for any events within your own calendars that match the words that you type into the search box. It will list all search results by Calendar name. You can see all of the events within that Calendar that match the search words by clicking on “Matching Events”
The search function will also search for any public calendars or events within public calendars that match the words you type into the search box. It will list all search results by Calendar name. You can see all of the events within the Calendar(s) that match the search words by clicking on “Matching Events”
You can subscribe to any Public calendar of interest by simply clicking on “Subscribe to this Calendar” located next to each search result. A subscribed calendar name will subsequently appear on the left hand sidebar underneath the word “subscriptions” and all events with in the subscribed calendar will appear with your calendar.
BackWhat does the “subscribe” option do?
You can subscribe to any Public calendar of interest by simply clicking on “Subscribe to this Calendar” located next to the search result. A subscribed calendar name will subsequently appear on the left hand sidebar underneath the word “subscriptions” and all events with the subscribed calendar will appear with your calendar.
BackHow do I delete a subscribed calendar?
To delete a subscribed calendar, either click on “Remove Subscription”, or the red minus button located to the immediate right of “Subscriptions” in the left hand side bar. A new page will load listing all subscribed calendars with an empty box located to the right of each calendar name. To delete a calendar, selected the calendar by clicking on the correct box and then click on the “Remove” button.
BackSHARING
How do I share my calendars?
You can do this in two ways.
The first is by defining a calendar as “Public”. This enables any Supacal member to find the calendar via the search function and then to subscribe to it. To do this, click on the calendar’s “name” located in the left side bar. The calendar settings page will load. Verify you have the right calendar by checking the name. Click on the “Privacy” section’s drop down bar and click on “Public”. The privacy setting will change to Public. To save the new setting, click the “Save” button.
The second is through two steps. First by defining a calendar as “Shared” and secondly by defining who you are sharing the calendar with. This enables the defined Supacal members to find the calendar via the search function and via clicking on “Add Shared Calendar” (it will not be seen by other members). To do this, click on the calendar’s “name” located in the left side bar. The calendar settings page will load. Verify you have the right calendar by checking the name. Click on the “Privacy” section’s drop down bar and click on “Shared”. The privacy setting will change to shared.
To define whom you are sharing the calendar with type their Supacal username into the sharing box. Click on the view drop down bar and select one of the three sharing options. “View detail” allows someone to see all the detail in the calendar you are sharing, “view free / busy” allows someone to see only when you are either free or busy (no detail) and “view and edit” allows then to view all detail and make changes with the calendar. Click on the correct setting and then click on the “Add Person” button. This person will now be listed underneath.
To save the new settings, click on the “Save” button located at the bottom of the form.
BackHow do I prevent someone from seeing my calendars (whom I had previously given access) ?
To do this, click on the calendar’s “name” located in the left side bar. The calendar settings page will load. Verify you have the right calendar by checking the name. Click on the delete button, located next to the person’s username. Their name will be deleted from the list of people who can access that calendar.
To save the new settings, click on the “Save” button located at the bottom of the form.
